how to check the vehicle?

my brother did find pick up truck for work at unbelievebale low price , owner was bit suspicious , we stopped by at the local PD to check if this vehicle was stolen....any other issues , police officer refused to give this information. is there any other way to verify that.
as far as i know carfax and autocheck dont contain this info.

Nothing ever is and nothing ever can be... The car might not have been or is still yet to be reported as stolen.

Still, the site I gave you collects data from virtually every major insurer. Not too much more you can do other than check as many sources as you can, verify title and only pay with a traceable means of payment.
