Thanks, alohalc -- I'm almost old enuf to be a Supreme Court Justice. <_< OTOH, I've had 2 By-pass surgeries. A hip replacement, new knees. Fought prostate cancer, and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation, hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends.

But.....Thank God, I still have my driver's license!

Last week my doctor told me"Well I have good news and bad news..."
I said, "Lay it on me Doc. What's the bad news?"
"You have Alzheimer's disease."
"Good heavens! What's the good news?"
"You can go home and forget about it!"

 

jdn, are you serious about the second part ? btw, you didn't lose all your friends. you still have us .

Happy belated Birthday JDN! I'm glad to know that (except maybe for the hearing) our most senior member is in good health! (By the way, you share the same birthday with my mom.)

It was tricky to pull off at the last minute but I was able to pull some strings and arrange for an awsome fireworks display in Dallas in your honor -- the only problem is that the earliest they could do it is Monday, July 4th.

Hope you enjoy them! If, for some reason, you plan on being out of town on Monday, let me know and I'll see if I can arrange something in whatever city you'll be in...
