The Heckler & Koch HK45

The HK45 was developed to meet the needs of the most distinguished, elite U.S. military operators.

The HK45 is available in any one of the 10, HK specific variants, including the double-action and single-action Law Enforcement Modification known as the LEM. Left, right and ambidextrous control levers provide safety and/or de-cocking functions and can be fitted to the pistol by simply changing parts.

A unique, internal mechanical recoil reduction system reduces the recoil forces imparted to the weapon and shooter by as much as 30%, improving shooter control during rapid firing.

The HK45 combines the accuracy, modularity, reliability and extended service life that you have come to expect from a company that prides itself for their “No Compromise” slogan. Both models can be fitted with threaded barrels for use with sound suppressors.

Some of the numerous features of the HK45:

* Ergonomical grip profiles
* Replaceable grip panel
* Integrated Picatinny rail molded into the polymer frame dust cover
* Enlarged ambidextrous magazine levers
* Improved ergonomic control levers (safety and/or decocking)
* Low-profile, drift adjustable, 3-dot sight
* Contoured and radiused slide with forward grasping grooves
* Ambidextrous slide release

HECKLER & KOCH USP PISTOLS

The HK USP (Universal Self-loading Pistol) is the first service pistol based on a modular concept. During development of the USP, the requirements of the Military and Security forces have consistently been taken into consideration.

Thanks to the use of an improved Browning locking system with a patented buffer system, the USP recoil behaviour is unobtrusive even during the use of the highest powered ammunition. The buffer system reduces recoil forces and increases both service life of the pistol as well as improves recoil behaviour.

The modular design of the USP enables an individual adaptation of safety and trigger mechanisms to any requirement.

* The operation of the pistol - recoil operated weapon with locked breech and tilting barrel
* Braking of unlocking and buffer blow via a spring element
* Grip and magazine made of glass fibre reinforced polymer with corrosion proof metal inserts
* Modular design with customer-specific design possibilities, for example:
- SA/DA Variant Double Action/Single Action with safety lever for safety and de-cocking function, arranged on the right or left side
- SA/DA Variant Double Action/Single Action with safety lever only for de-cocking function, arranged on the right or left side
- Variant DA Double Action with safety lever for safety function, arranged on the right or left side, without de-cocking lever
* Integrated support rail for aiming units
* Magazine capacity 15 cartridges (9 mm x 19), 13 cartridges (.40 S & W), 12 cartridges (.45 Auto)
* Open square notch rear sight with contrast points
* Hammer strut lock (Gun lock) with key upon request.

However my personal favorite is the Sig . Hate Glocks! :thumbsdown:
When I was living in the U.S. and even now, I've noticed that with Sig Sauer, gun owners love them or think they are alright. However, with Glocks, it's a love hate thing. Some people find the Glocks difficult to aim and they say that the polymer frame isn't stiff/strong enough for their liking (whatever that means)~ I loved my Sig P229 and I liked my Glock 19 ... Unfortunately, I don't have them anymore. I now live in a country with very strict gun laws. So... my gun fantasies are fed by memories and the odd visit to a licensed and accredited gun range.

Wow. That thing scares me a little bit
I have a feeling it may be a bit much for a novice. Kinda like getting a Audemars as a first 'beater' watch

I remember the first time I saw an IPSC race gun. It was in 1992 during the L.A. riots. All the news channels kept showing gun fights in Koreatown and on one particular piece of footage, there was a shop owner with a gun that looked like this, shooting off rounds at a blistering pace. In an attempt to protect himself and his property. I remember thinking to my self, what a travesty the riots were and then asking myself, what sort of gun is that?

And yes... you are right. A novice getting this Tanfoglio would be akin to getting an Audemars Piguet as a first 'beater' watch or a 16 year old who just got his license, getting behind the wheel of a M5 with the 'M' button pressed!

Compared to a Glock, almost all handguns are heavy!
