You're talking about "tuulastus". The translation is (I think) torch fishing.
Another nice style of fishing is "kolkkaaminen". That would be knocking
!
There you're on a glass like ice at fall time near the shore, with a mace. The fish (mostly burbots) stay still while you're approaching it carefully. And then..... BANG! The last problem is to get the fish up from under the ice before it recovers

Dammmit, Antti, now I REALLY wanna go !
A friend of mine in Brooklyn goes fishing in the Atlantic Ocean - they catch 150-200 pounds blue fin tuna and stuff - that's also kinda cool. But its a LOT of fish - 150-200 pounds - to bring home, so I've never really bothered to go with him. But I've seen pictures of some of the fish they've caught - those bastards are bigger than ME!

Me and my friend "Chief" (you'll get it until you see him in the pics
) went flyfishing today on a local small river once again. Had some great time, and fish too.
The weather was cloudy and wet, but that really didn't bother us. Fishing, talking, some coffee in the middle and more fishing...
The river locates only 15 minutes drive from my home, so I think there are occasionally benefits too living in the backwoods
.
We took some pics as usual. Nothing artistic, really. Just quick snapshots here and there
.
This thread doesn't have any special purpose, just felt I could share it.
The weather was dull:

Nice story. Keep it comin'![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

It's easy to press the pause, it's next to play and fast forward (which is the most used nowadays I'm afraid

Excellent pics! And clean looking fish.
I got some casting time at our cottage (on Kemi?nsaari) on Monday evening and Tuesday morning, but came up empty. The weather down here has not been the best for ANY water activities.

Nice to hear!
It's easy to press the pause, it's next to play and fast forward (which is the most used nowadays I'm afraid
). Just be careful you don't press the "stop"! ![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)
