Did anyone realize that the filename of the photo of that car was "holden-fj-special.jpg?"
I wondered if anyone would get caught out by that kind of thing. I was renaming my pics to things like car.jpg or a31.jpg etc.

Spooky that on Friday I posted a guess-the-car of a Matra that I'd googled the pic for. I haven't seen one in 20 years and I saw one today in mint condition.

I didn't noticed that.
A little earlier in this thread we were searching for a Holden.
I was looking at so many pics of Holdens that this was pretty easy to find out/remember.

That grille sure looks like a BMW. Maybe a 501 from the early 50s?

Looks very similar (but not identical) to this one I took at a Porsche dealership here that had been re-imported from California.

Very close guys!!! (My Dad has a BMW 502 which he is restoring )

Same design roots and similar age, but not a BMW.

So what is this car?

WE HAVE A WINNER

Correct, its a Bristol type 403.
To the best of my knowledge, after the war, some of the German companies' designs were shared around the allies, which included the design for the 501/2, which ended up with the Brits at Bristol motor company, hence the designs looking so similar. Even though I come from Bristol, I still prefer the BMW!
