Will be attending the British Open Golf Tournament in July. Can someone tell me the best way to get from London to Dundee Scotland? Is the GNER train from London's Kings Cross station the best way to get there?

Thanks

Obviously the best way to make that trip would be in an M5

This route is probably the best although I believe that you have to change trains in Edinburgh. If you do this route then I would recommend paying the small amount extra and going first class and also make sure that you reserve a seat.

I'd consider getting a rental car and take a B&B on the way. It will take almost two days by car, but it's a beautiful drive up North.
It's nice in the train as well, but in a car it'll be more like a holliday. If you have enough time of course.

Fly from London City airport..

Book in advance and you shouldn't be paying more than GBP 150.-

I absolutely agree - Fly - you'll avoid all the heavy motorway traffic around London,Birmingham & Glasgow/Edinburgh; & hence be relaxed & fresh on arrival....got any spare tickets? ;)

Thanks for the advice!

Its either train or fly - no driving on the left hand side!
Actually, we are thinking of train in order to see English and Scottish countryside.
Sorry no spare tickets!
