Oh well that's just great. Now I've looked at that I'm thinking why don't I buy a 990 instead of waiting for a G5. More researching to do I was convinced the G5 was "the one" but that 990 looks as good if not better. Grrrrr.
And by G5, I assume you mean G11?

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

I was considering the SD990, but I also wanted HD video, 5X optical zoom and 3" display screen and that's why I got the SD970. I would imagine the lens and color quality would be about the same. For point and shoot, I think Canon has everybody else beaten. The argument for the SLR's can go for both Canon and Nikon, although I'm sure that in the end they're both fine cameras.

Skip the SD990, get the SD970 or SD980 IS

What's the main difference, besides the focal length and touch-screen between the SD970 and SD980 IS?

not bad... nice pic to be on auto... i currently have the nikon d60 and i love it...

I have the Nikon D90. I do not want to use the word love to describe my feeling toward her because I already love some one. Yes she is Britney Spears. But I really like my camera.
