Merry Christmas to all of you

I'll be celebrating new years in Miami this year, with some of friends from Sweden (I'm really looking forward to the trip/vacation!!).

We'll be staying at one of my friends in Miami (he is currently on exhange at the University of Miami, lucky bastard )

Do you guys have some ideas of what to see while I'm in Miami/Florida... I've a list of need-to-see-things in Florida, while I'm there:
1: Kennedy Space Center
2: Key West (should be a nice drive, and a good chance to see some Crocodiles)

What else do I need to see, while I'm in Miami / Florida?

Futhermore I'll be helping my friend who is living there, buying a car. He's staying for six more months, so he needs a cheap car, that should be easy to sell in six months.. Does anybody have a recomendation on a good dealership. He dosen't know anything about cars, so the brand dosen't really matter (cheap, problem free and easy to sell).

Best regards

Simon

Depending on your age/marital status, etc., South Beach is something you need to do at least once while in Miami (do it once in the day and once at night...)

I'll bet there will be plenty of other people chiming in here since we have a bunch of S. Florida members...

Have fun!

first off, u.s. has alligators not crocs, you can find them in almost any canal and lake in s. florida. south beach a definite hotspot, bayside is very nice as well, they usually have live music at night. seminole casino in hollywood, fl very nice too. tell your friend to go to carmax, they have a lot of low priced cars and they can search other carmax dealers in florida for what you need. metro zoo is a big zoo and best during the winter months... i'm sure you will get other ideas from the rest of our members, have fun.

Unless Bayside has changed tremendously over the last few years, I'm not sure I'd put it high on the list of places to go. In my opinion, it became pretty run-down over the years and it sort of turned into a tourist trap. Again, I haven't been there in a few years so if they've put some money into it recently, then I may be way off base here...

Well I was there in March, we went after a Heat game and stayed for a couple of hours, really a lowkey place to hangout, look at some nice boats and good food... Shopping there is good as well.

I wonder where all the S. Florida members are? There's a ton of them here...

Until they chime in, take a look at the following:

I would have thought some of the Miami members would have added their suggestions. I am sure your friend living there has plenty of suggestions. From Miami it is about 150 miles to Key West and 250 miles to Orlando (Disney World). There are alligators farms in the Miami area where you can go to see alligators. Some of them also give air boat rides which you might enjoy. Cocoa Beach also has some nice restaurants. The weather should be quite a bit warmer than Denmark. Have fun!!
