Wish me luck guys, just picked up the rental truck and am heading home to New Orleans! We'll see what has survived the mold and mildew on the second floor. Not expecting much, but we did wrap our paintings in plastic, so hopefully they came through OK. Other than that, meeting the insurance adjuster on Sat. morning. Given that 7 ft. of water sat in our house for over two weeks, I'm fully expecting a tear down situation. Am bringing the digital camera for insurance photos and will post some here when we get back on Sat. evening or Sunday!

There has to be a lot of trauma with reentry, kcs. Just wishing you and yours the best. I know it will be better knowing than supposing. I'll be waiting, along with everyone else, for your report. Thanks for the progress report.

Remember if your house has oil and stuff of the sort, demo the foundation too and rebuild from ground up. Some insurance will sell you short and just do frame and up. Oil, being under water for extended period of time, will screw your foundation - not just stability, but plumbing smell, stain, and a list of other things.
Good luck. Houston is nice. Stay here.
