Hey guys! Just got back from the auction. We didn't buy anything since this is only the 2 time being at an auction, and the 1st time being at an auction exclusively for high line cars.
Here are the pics!
Ok first off, this was not a car for auction. Someone actually owns this car:
If your wondering, yes that is chrome trim around the doors, and yes that is a pin stripe running down the CENTER of the car put on by a challenged monkey.
If your wondering, 80% of those are AMG's
Swirly Tirlys
I was looking around for some manual cars and found 5 BMW's with stick. Z4 M soft top, 330i, M5 (yes, manual, not SMG), 645ci, 328i. I discovered that the stick shift cars where the best maintained. I figured that lease returns aren't manual so these cars where actually OWNED. Most of the cars where obviously lease returns and some where in HORRID condition. There was a 525i, with 4300k miles overdue for oil change, 400miles overdue for micro filter, 200k miles overdue for breaks, flat tire, airbag malfunction. The interior trim was all scratched up from finger nails, and the car slammed as you shifted from P - D - P. The manual cars where all in impeccable condition with NO swirls. The 645i had 71k miles and quality wise looked better than the interior of my 545i (lease return).
The 328i had only 2k miles on the clock and the gear shift was SOOO nice an notchy. It felt really nice. The 645i's stick was a little looser but still really nice.
Anyway it was a great day! There where a lot of Bentley's and about 5 Rolls Royce Phantom. A ton of AMG's and probably 25 or so 525i's. Not a single 545i, and only 2 550i's.

Geez, that pinestriping doesnt even look even!! What is this auction exactly? Why are there so many high end cars? Are these like seized drug dealer cars?

My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
I think it might have been drug dealer cars, because whoever put on that pinstripe was definitely high, drunk, or both.
How to devalue your car - lesson 1:
Pinstripes
lesson 2:
Ridiculous chrome accessories (like door protectors)

You buy a car at the auction for 25 grand and sell it for 28 grand. That's a pretty good deal, but sometimes you get bitten in the ass by a car that no one wants. It's a tricky business.
