I've been using Gmail for around a year now, and just noticed that I have a bunch of invites, so if anybody is interested, send me an email through the board and I'll send you one. For those not familiar with Gmail, it's a free email service from Google with virtually unlimited storage (2GB+) and some pretty cool features:

The problem with Gmail (I'm told) is that they do selective advertisement.
They effectively read your email, pick out certain words and target an advertisement at you depending on the scan.
Because of the space, people just use it to store large files (like an internet based file server) and not as their everyday email service.

[/quote]To get a Gmail account you need to get an invite from somebody who already has Gmail (since it's still in beta)--you can't just go and sign up yet.
There are text ads on the right side when you read an email, which are targeted based on a scan of the particular email based on key words, which I don't find to be a problem--I honestly just ignore them. I do have another personal email account that I use for any sensitive personal stuff, though. Storing large files requires a work around since the attachment size is 10MB, I believe.
