Anybody know how? I'm coming up on my 1 year of the 2 years contract and I know that cell phone shops can do the cancelling for me some how, but how do I do it myself? The cell shops either will do it for me free if I sign up another 2 year contract with T-Mobile or charge me $50 per line (I have two lines).

I want to get into ATT b/c Tmobile reception sucks in my area especially at my g/f's house which is where we have the mailing address at, but not enough to justify getting a cancellation (I tried calling).

Ideas?

I'm not sure if you can get out T-Mobile without getting hit with ETF or other fees. Signing for another 2 years with T-Mobile is a different story.

You didn't think we would keep it serious, did you?
Cell carriers are the stingiest companies around so asking them to forgive the ETF's is like asking them to give you their right testicle.

you can pay the fee. i think it was like 150 bucks for early cancellation with verizon.

unfortunately it is called a contract for a reason. you guaranteed them business for X amount of time, in return they gave you a discount on a cellular phone.

somewhere in your contract you will see the ways in which you can cancel early, one probably being to pay the early cancellation penalty fee.

Some of the small cell phone shops in my area can do it, but I have to sign another contract with them. If they carried ATT as well then it'll be all good. I just figured if they can do it, they probably is a "secret" way.

I'm skeptical. They probably have you open up a new account separately. But your old one might or might not get canceled. Do you know for a fact that someone you know has done it without any issues?
