Hey Redstradic,
I'm a new member here. I saw a photo of your garage floor while doing an internet search and fell in love with it. I am in the process of getting the same floor coating combination done. I have a question for you though. Do you have a pic with your garage door closed as I want to see how the black floor threshold piece looks sticking out beyond the garage door? A couple of contractors have warned me to be wary of my colour choices because when the garage door is closed...the threshold could end up sticking like a sore thumb. I think I would be OK though with the black.
Thanks in advance.
Joe

If anyone wants a simple solution there is a product called G Floor that comes in a roll and you just roll it out and done, here is the link http://www.bltllc.com/blt_main.htm

you dont have to paint/epoxy the floor all the way out to the driveway. you can snap a chaulk line half way under where the door sits, then put down tape on the outside of the line. after you paint the floor, peel up the tape (while the paint is wet) and you'll have a straight line.

Ya I know, but the worst part of my garage floor is that threshold area....concrete is spalling etc. I want it to look as nice as the rest of the garage. One contractor recommended a colour for the threshold that compliments the exterior of the house. That's a good idea, but I think that the black just might compliment it just as well.

My Ride: Ford raptor
My garage floor has a lot of stains from parties. I wanted to cover them up and thought about concrete paint, but my neighbor tried it and it peals I guess from the heat underneath the car.
What I did was I covered it up with carpet, nothing expensive (no padding of course). I went to my local discount carpet store and told them I needed 400 square feet of carpeting (garage is 20' X 20'). I was lucky enough that the cheapest one they had was in stock and the color was a blue/grey combination, looks pretty good. I spent half the day cutting them into four pieces because it's hard to transport 400s square feet of carpet in one piece, plus no carpet place has them that big. I vaccum them once a week to clean, no big hassle. I am extremely pleased with the look, kind of like an extension to the house. I can walk bear footed in the garage and it feels nice. Now when I have parties I can put tables and chairs there and everybody feels comfortable. I can replace them every 3 years or so when they get real old and worn out. They only cost me about $200 for the whole thing so it's not a big deal. Sure it doesn't look as classy as the tiles, but I only needed something to cover the stain. But I do want to get something better in a year or so, but for now this will work for me.
But the biggest winners are my two rides, they love it in my garage!
