The Euro prices are per litre correct? The U.S gallon equates to about
4 litres. These prices listed are about 3 times more than what we pay in the U.S. Thats ridiculous, every country buys at the same price, I guess the extra taxes are necessary, in order to have free health care

In Sweden based on fuel for 11,92 Kr petrol:
Petrol 4,58 Kr
Energy tax: 2,84 Kr
CO2-tax: 2,12 Kr
VAT: 2,38 Kr

That makes 1 litre petrol..

I US gallon is 3.785 litres.

The gas prices are highly taxed in EU for environmental reasons.

That's why a lot of cars run with diesel, which gives a lot better milage.

Gas is highly taxed in Europe because stupid politicians want to pay people for not working in the hope they will vote for them.

Joe public is to stupid to realise that all the money the governments spend has to come from thier pockets.

If they cut taxes and spending then people could make thier own choices about what they spend it on. You can guarantee that the price of anything will go up as soon as the seller realises he is selling to a government department.

I don't agree with everything in the USA, but thier tax regime makes a lot more sense and does encourage people to take a chance on thier own behalf rather than expecting someone else to wipe thier asses for them !

It's not possible for everyone to drive a E60... Whats good with the high taxes is the fact that car manufacters is forced to come up with fuel efficient engines.

And maybe we won't have to see piece of shit cars like this one in the future: (hmmm, maybe I shouldn't mess with that guy. Looks kind of dangerous.. )
