Correct - and they won the WC back in 98. Apparently there was a rift between the players and the coach for quite some time. Its still no excuse for the way the players acted. Bottom line is you play the game. However, there is reason to believe that if it wasn't for a missed penalty call France wouldn't have qualified for the WC in the first place.
