So..is Ferrari going to get a penalty or not.?
Unfortunately, BMW is going to get dinged too because Robert pitted with a closed pit.

too bad for Robert ! I dunno what happened with the pit situation. I mean shouldn't the team tell Robert the pit lane was closed or what? Was he really that low on fuel? Extra 2 laps and the pit would have oppened...

Kubica was low on fuel and had no choice but to make a stop when he did. If he didn't, the car would have stopped on the track.

IMO opinion, not being allowed to pit when the safety car first comes out is a stupid rule. Take today for example. The safety car came out because of Piquet smacking up his car. There were a couple of cars low on fuel, Kubica being one of them. He couldn't risk staying out a couple more laps to pit and therefore had to take the penalty to enter the pits or end up with a Ret/DNF. His race was ruined by a rule that penalizes drivers who did nothing wrong.

Kurbica was just betting on pulling ahead first few laps and then re fuel....the crash messed up plans for both Ferrari and BMW

What a crazy race. Who could have predicted that outcome? What a cool venue, though.

+1 One thing I would change though is the lack of illumination in the stands. Part of enjoying a televised sporting event is watching the spectators as well as the participants, but it was very hard in this instance because the stands were so dark. It almost seemed as if the cars were out there driving around with only a few people watching.

Yeah man but having lots of lights in the stands may be distracting for the drivers. I mean picture driving at 200+ (km/h) speeds following just the tunnel of lights, but then if you'd have spectators under lights plus the cameras blitz then it could ber very very distracting/annoying.
