Hello fellow enthusiasts,

very happy to report that this past Sunday, fellow member "Bajanbanker" and I completed our first century ride to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Our team raised an impressive $27,470 with an additional $6,000 match grant by our team sponsor, Genzyme, coming soon.

The team battled the rain, wet road conditions, a few crashes, flat tires and some adverse road conditions but we all successfully finished. We met our goal of doing the ride and raising funds for the ACS.

Neither I nor Bajanbanker crashed and we both made it in under 8 hours (102 miles) although he made it in a full 11 minutes before me. Congrats to Bajanbaker for an excellent ride and fundraising success. Looking forward to doing it again, next year.

Breakfast on the run. Blasphemy! This is the first time the E60 has ever seen food.

Loading the E60 and looking forward to next year.

This was no easy ride, especially with the monster hills right to the end, but the end result of helping current cancer patients and prevent people from hearing the words "you have cancer" was well worth the effort. This cause is much more important than our personal comfort and I was very happy to see that all the riders shared the same view.

A word about Bajanbanker, he's one of the most genuinely good person you could ever meet. He's warm, respectful, and also a strong believer in helping others. He and I are trying to figure out how to get a Massachusetts meet started, so if anybody from MA would like to participate in a meet, maybe early summer and early fall for a meet and ride, please IM either me or bajanbanker.

Happy E60 riding.
