thanks skele No 3G-S Jailbreak yet (at least public). The dev team has their own working Jail break, but it's not finalized yet. iPhone3G iPhone2G (Edge) iTouch (1st Gen) are good to go. iTouch v2 iPhone3G-S have to wait a little while. |
If you're going the jailbreak way you'll say this to yourself all the time:
have to wait a little while. |

Like copy & paste or MMS which got addressed in the 3.0 software update. But after i updated my phone i found that i never had to use copy & paste (not yet anyway) and sent only ONE MMS to see if it's working. I was surprised that even I thought i didn't need MMS or copy and paste in the first place, hence i believe it to be very overrated. Same with flash support. Sure it's nice from time to time when you need it. In a year or so i needed the flash plugin only 2 or 3 times, and guess what i survived. Thing is that the rest of the other stuff the iPhone does, it do so great and intuitive and without hiccups that an average user tends to ignore those "shortcomings". PS: I had to say that i also enabled tethering since it is supported here and guess what, only worked with it once (to see if/how it works). But sure it's nice to have all those things available ^_^ but i for one prefer to have a few less available but work flawlessly. |

True! This is one of the many shortcomings of the iPhone !! Or at least from a narrower bunch since the 3GS came out.

What's odd is that Macromedia/Adobe recently issued a big update to Flash on pretty much every other mobile platform except iPhone.
I personally use a browser called Skyfire on my WinMo 6.1 device. Skyfire is a proxy-based browser that does the page rendering remotely. As long as the home servers support something, my visual experience is the same. I can play any embedded video or whatever on my WinMo device without having any codecs or plugins installed locally. |
