The first miner is on his way out...keep your fingers crossed that all of them make it out safely and quickly! He should be out in a few minutes...

It's great to see that they didn't have to wait until December as originally speculated!!

1 miner up, 32 more to go (plus one rescuer who went down earlier this evening...)

It's going to be a long night in Chile. Pray that all systems continue to work without any glitches!

That was awesome! My heart was beating so fast as we watched and waited. And of course, my wife started crying when he came to the surface. What a great day!

There are actually 4 rescue miners down there, so the total is 37 (36 now).

So great that this disaster will have a happy ending for the 33 people trapped underground for sooooo long - helps put things in perspective!

I just said that this morning Rudy, amazed at the efficiency with which they got to them and are getting them out - 2 months ahead of schedule

Really? I thought there was only one guy who went down there...

Tonight reminds me of when they rescued the 9 Quecreek miners in Pennsylvania about 8 years ago. I remember the chills I felt as I watched the live feed. Tonight, I was fine until I saw that little boy cry tears of joy! Once I saw that, I was a wreck!

I think they're actually giving credit to a mining expert from the USA (along with NASA engineers) for accelerating the outcome months ahead of schedule. What's even cooler is the US dude who came down to help get the capsule hole drilled faster left Chile this morning since his work was done. Most people would have stayed a day longer to witness the rescue first hand but this guy decided to come home and watch it on television!
