If you have had dreams of owning one, research the market, do not buy cheap crap - it will cost more in the long rung. My car has been faultless in the 10 k km, I am not regretting the purchase one bit and just looking at it in the garage brings a smile to my face. I spent a year here: www.ferrarichat.com before taking the plunge and finding the perfect car. I use the same nick on both forums BTW.

I'm 1 year into my 328 and I have to say it has made the E60 just everyday regular transport. The 328 is an occasion. I love driving it and have done over 10 k km in several months including a trip to the 60th anniversary celebrations in Maranello which was one of the most amazing trips of my life

I have many frend that have classic car and very old car.
So I am well prepaired to fix the car.
for me, when I do buy a old Ferrari, eg. say $20,000us I would keep a extra $10,000 to fix the car.
that the fun of owning a classic or a old sports car.

Also a late eighties Ferrari doesn't drive like a classic car - they drive and handle like proper sports cars - I've seen over 260 km/h on my GPS in mine and the cornering and handling are great. That's not like an MGB in which you would amble along in on a leisurely Sunday drive.
As far as the Ferrari theme park is concerned it's just a next step of cynical brand extensions which include NICI cuddly toys, laptops, Puma shoes and a whole lot of other garbage that now carries the brand.

That maybe works and is fun with an old MGB, Mustang, Alfa, etc. With a Ferrari if you want to buy a heap and fix it properly that's more like $30k and $30k so better buy the best you can find for say $50k and have fun driving it rather than be scouring the world for unobtainium parts.
