Minnie must be desperate and saw no hope with their current batch of QBs in camp. Obviously they want someone who can toss the rock and take advantage of play action with Adrian Petersen in the backfield. Otherwise, with a weak (mental and arm strength) QB, the opposing defenses will just put 8 in the box to stop Petersen and dare Minnie to throw.
Favre despite his 39 years, can still make things happen. He'll start the season in prototypical fashion, like a bat out of hell. He'll then sputter down the stretch as he's done the last few years. I reckon Minnie figures with their current awesome defense, now is the time to try to make it to Miami for SB XLIV.
Time will tell.

I don't think he is able anyway!

Favre turns 40 in Oct, I fugre he'll be put of gas well before then. Tavaris Jackson shoudl've just gotten the start. All Minnie needs is a QB that doesn't lose the game for em. They need a Big Ben type - someone who can keep you in the game long enough to let your D do it's job, create turnoevers and rack up some points.
Oh well, either way - Steelers get theri 7th this year so Favre is still irrelevant.

Well, it is not, for me, a matter of if he should. More so, I am tired of the back and forth... We don't get many channels out here and it seems as though he is on every one...
