Thousands of farmers from across Europe (including Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, and even Ireland!) protest about low milk prices outside a meeting of EU farm ministers in Luxembourg today.

As a result of this "visit" of over 3000 protesters, 60 buses and over 230 tractors in the centre of the city's financial and European Institution's district (Kirchberg) the Luxembourg's public transportation nightmare and traffic jams lasted for a several hours...

Take a look at several of my photos taken during a lunchbreak walk around...

I love a good protest. I always had problems with authority, though.

Just the tractors alone represent well over 20 mil(US). A huge investment on behalf of farmers as well as their time.
The burning calf speaks volumes. Stop milk production altogether and the current subsidy would seem paltry.
Funny...some people think milk comes from supermarkets, not from cows, tended to by farmers that have devoted
their way of life to this profession.
PAY THEM FOR THE WORTH THEY PROVIDE!
