I don't know if this is good or bad

Lewis Hamilton won five races this year and Felipe Massa won six, but Lewis Hamilton is the world champion because he scored more points.

I think that's dumb! The current system awards consistency of good finishes. If the only thing that counted was a win, you'd have the front runners pushing each other (good) but causing accidents (bad).

I had to check it wasn't April 1st... If true, it's yet more utterly pointless tinkering with F1. Richard in NC is right, the current system works just fine - it rewards consistency, and it means that drivers other than the usual suspects can rack up points with solid if not spectacular performances.

The sooner we see the back of Mosley and Ecclestone, the better F1 will be.
