Unfortunatley since we are voting on a computer, on the internet, in a forum - the age bias here will be younger. I saw somewhere that the average age for a 545 owner was 50+ and annual income averages over $250,000/year.

Interesting.
My dealer said, when I ordered mine, he allready had ordered three other 545i E60's, and I am the OLDEST customer to purchase one through him.

Iceman, Maybe outside the US the demographics are different. Either way we have to be younger than our Mercedes counterparts. I've had two Mercedes and three BMW's, my wife doesn't like me to get the Mercedes anymore because she feels its an older persons car.
What the opinion in Germany?

I was surprised that I was the oldest one to purchase a 545i at my dealer.
I think the 50+ and 250K/year is a little high, but 40+ and 150K/year sounds right.
However, the older Guys ARE driving MB's, so the MB is an older persons car, for a lot of people. The younger drivers usually prefer BMW's and Audi's.
Foreigners seem to like the MB's though. And offcourse the cabs are (90%) MB's in Germany.
We have that little joke in Germany: If I wanna ride a MB, I call a cab !

from USAToday:
? Who'll buy? Varies by model. 525i will be 50% men; 530, 70% men; 545i, 90% men. Typical age: 47. Typical household income: $150,000. Just 37% will have kids; 35% will have post-graduate degrees.

That was for 525's, 530's and 545's combined, I can't find it but it sounds right that the 545 buyer would be older and wealthier.

Yes. It does sound right that 545 buyers are older and wealthier. That's why I was so surprised I was the OLDEST at my dealership. I thought I will be one of the youngest.

I will be 78 in the morning, but I never promised Daddy that I would grow up.
