Jad,

Main difference is just the add-on itself, one has an icon in the add-on tool bar, the other (the one i'm using now) has the icon in the upper right icon area. Both have a pop up window when a new email is received, however the add-on I'm using also shows the number of unread messages that are in my inbox. The location of the icons is also easier fro me to see. My add-on tool bar is at the bottom of the page, I also have my windows task bar set to auto hide, so when I would scrolled down to the yahoo or gmail icon in the add-on bar I'd sometimes activate the windows task bar, thereby blocking the add-on mail icons. A slight annoyance, but one that happened too often for me. Both add-on's allow you to open your inbox in a new tab, once specified in the preferences of each, but the tabs will not open automatically when you receive a new email, you have to click on the icon to open the new tab.

The add-on's I'm using are:

https://addons.mozil...o-mail-watcher/

and

https://addons.mozil.../gmail-watcher/

(same developer for both)

here's a screen shot of the icons when active and a new message is received (again, there's the usual pop up window as well which you can activate or deactivate as you wish via the specific add-on options)

Thank you Gene.I am loving both add-ons. Much better than the one I have (mine doesnt show the number of unread messages, just a button that takes you to your inbox).

I'm glad you shared that. Makes Gmail easier to handle.

Thanks again

Since we are sharing, here are some useful add-ons.

Sometimes, a few sites may not have the proper layout since they are meant to open with IE or a page wouldn't open since it only open with IE.
Here's an add-on that opens the page in a new tab with IE specs

Another one is this

I have so many add-ons, extensions and 7 tabs that open all together when I first start FF4, so this speeds up the process

And last but not least (which everyone surely uses), Fast dial, which allows you to put your favorites one click away (same as my snapshot above)

Hope it helps

Oh and Gene, I see that you do not use ABP, THAT IS A MUST!
It blocks all those stupid adds and pop ups everywhere (however some sites depend on those adds, so you can disable ABP on certain forums to support the forum )

Here you go

https://addons.mozil...er/346/?src=api

And Last pass
Saves all your passwords (you can deselect for CC and any government passwords), I know FF4 already does that, but it will allow you to choose which account or user you want to log in as if you have 2-3 people using the same computer, and edit your passwords. Plus, if you forgot one of your passwords, you can just go to that account, and SHOW password, and you ll see what that password is

so far, for FF4

Google Chrome also has those icons in the menu bar so you can see how many Google VM's, emails etc you have in your inboxes.
