I saw a silver E60 driving north on I5 earlier. I noticed it was lowered with 545i/550i brakes (painted red), and it had an M-Tec kit on the front and back. The back bumper hosted a CF dual exhaust diffuser and the trunklid said ALPINA on the top left and nothing on the top right. The roundels were Alpina. The wheels were not the multi-spoke alpina wheels.

Anyways, not but 7 hours later I was riding my bicycle to my auto-rebuild shop to check the status of my car and I noticed the same E60 sitting in a parking lot with the windows down!...so I rode up to the car (she had her window down), and I said, 'Hi, is this a real Alpina?'. She responded, 'Yes'. I said, 'How are you supposed to tell this is a real Alpina?', and she responded 'I don't know', and I wished her a good day and moved along with my bike ride.

Was it really an Alpina? I thought the Alpina's had a front skirt on them that said, 'Alpina' as well as pin-stripes along the side..

Yah, Alpina has there own front lip spoiler with alpina on it and there own side skirts, why would you put on an M-tech kit if you had a Alpina.

What you probably saw is some dumbass, who doesn't know the difference and just figured it would look "cool" to post up "Alpina" on his trunk. E60 B5 was never imported to the States, you saw a re-badged 545/550.

Don't Alpina sell all their parts individually?
