and???

The corporate world is littered with instances when gobs of money was spent on a technology, the company failed, and then the company or the IP got picked up and proliferated for next to nothing. Heck, most of the technology we enjoy is as cheap as it is because this tends to happen quite a lot.

I didn't know Greddy folded though - that's kind of sad. I put a Greddy exhaust on a Celica All-Trac Turbo I used to own.

People tend to stop reading if the post is too long. Attention span for internet forum is short usually, I guess.
Bingo, xman. I agree. There seems to be an inverse correlation between the length of the post and the number of readers. Thanks PTL for a superbly written post.

i think the length of post and how many readers/replies it gets also depends on who writes it. If someone like drlev writes up about a suspension problem or a new wheel finding i will read it because he knows his stuff.

if some noob with 4 post, writes some essay about a o2 sensor or something i dont care about right now then i wont spend the time to read it. I dont have a problem reading longer stuff but i will wait until my car has a problem with the sensors before i go digging into a huge thread. Also i cant reply in something like that because i dont know anything about it!

good post, alot of people work hard to bring us good products for our cars that actually work, and we should support them, and not someone who just copies someone elses design....

its simple "don't buy knockoffs" if you like and appreciate the real thing, just save up a lil more $$ the problem is people want to be a baller and have the dopest modded car ever but cant afford it. lil fish in a big pond, just get an acura and be the biggest fish in theyre modding pond

Agree completely... well, mostly. I think that yes - R&D is reflected and SHOULD be reflected in the MSRP. I think a great company that does this is RPI, due to the amazing amount of testing and proven gains their stuff gives. It's clearly quality product. If someone came out at half the price, claiming the same design as RPI, I seriously wouldn't even consider it.

BUT, and this is where some may disagree with me... Body kit parts. Specifically, lips and spoilers and other silly little crap. Some of these pieces cost more than full blown OEM bumpers! The prices are absolutely riiiidiculous. I think some of these mod companies stick it to consumers based purely on the fact that it's a high end brand car.
