I have also read numerous posts in the M3 forums, of guys switching their orders to sedans after seeing the sedan and coupe M3 side by side.
For some reason they say the M3 sedan looks more aggressive and you can't see this in just pictures.
Not sure if I agree, I am coupe fan.

Not unique to BMW. And many of the BMW's sold in the US are made here anyway...
As for the M3 with these markups - not a chance. Great car, but at 90K you would have to be clinically insane to not spend the money on an M5 or on a proper sports car/coupe.

BMW clearly thinks its British customers are clinically insane as the base model M3 Coupe is over $100,000.

Just stopped by BMW of Manhattan on 57th and 11th and saw the new M3 Coupe, Sedan. I spoke to one of the sales consultants. They are selling the cars at MSRP, they are charging anything above such as mentioned the $20K above.

I don't disagree with you, but just under $15,000 of that is VAT built in to the tax-inclusive purchase price so the difference isn't quite as egregious as it initially appears. US pricing is typically tax-exclusive and in most cases you'll need to add 6% to 8.5% to the numbers you'll see posted by US-based members to make a proper comparison.
At the end of day, we do have the choice as to whether we care to buy one so we have only ourselves to blame.

Point taken - the BMW price difference (before tax) isn't as much as it first appears - but it's still significant! They are effectively using one group of customers to sudsidise another.

I watched a show called "Test Drive" on the Speed Channel last night. I've watched this show before which features Tommy Kendell giving his opinion on various models. Last night they showcased the M3 at the Spartenburg test facility and put it through its paces with John Andretti, Boris Said, and Graham Rahal. I didn't know there were so many driver adjustable settings. The car is truely awesome!
