Beautiful car! Carbon fiber roof is stunning and i'm sure to drive it is exhilarating, but $70.5 + $20k for the dealership!!
They had 2 white coupes, 2 black coupes and 1 white sedan (no mark-up on the sedan).

Has anybody seen a larger mark-up?

I agree. The dealer had 5 - M5's starting at $97k.
At $70k, the dealer is making too much!! I don't believe he'll see them in this market, for that price.

That markup is nothing, try going to BMW San Francisco, I heard they are asking $50k over sticker.... Of course no idiot in their right mind would pay such a premium, but the point of the high markup is to signify that the car is sooooo special They'll be lucky to get $10k over sticker, as with any other dealerships out there asking for a premium, unless of course you're stupidly rich and just don't care.

Moritz in DFW had both coupe and sedan with no markups. I think they were demos though.

Yes.

Take a look in a BMW dealer during your next European trip and you'll see that this is where they make their money.

They give BMWs away in the US - particularly when you take into account the extremely weak dollar!

Not unique to BMW. And many of the BMW's sold in the US are made here anyway...

As for the M3 with these markups - not a chance. Great car, but at 90K you would have to be clinically insane to not spend the money on an M5 or on a proper sports car/coupe.

Relax, guys most dealers are selling at msrp. No one on the M3 forums have paid mark-up.

You can get a fully loaded M3 sedan for $68,720, plus a $1300 gas guzzler tax.

Most well optioned M3 are going for mid $60k.
