NEW YORK -- David Beckham was fined $1,000 by Major League Soccer, which said his gestures toward taunting fans suggested that they leave their seats and come on the field.

Should have been a 5 figure sum if you ask me. Beckham was finger gesturing the fan to come down for a fight. Frankly someone should have punched some stars into that so called star player. No matter how bad any fan gets (and it does happen here to coloured soccer players), the player should always keep calm and let it go.
Now everyone knows what frequency to tune into to piss Beckham. I am sure its only going to get worse now.
Beckhams isn't an ambassador for soccer. The example he is setting is more like a thug. SHAME!!

I don't blame Beckham here. None of us have to put up with douchebag "fans" shouting abuse at us when we go about our day jobs. Nor should he, irrespective of how much he earns.
He reacted how many of us may react if we were similarly provoked. Really not a big deal.
