HENRY COUNTY, Ga. -- A man who was running from police on foot was hit and killed trying to cross I-75 southbound, Henry County police said Tuesday.

The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Police said a man was stopped as part of a traffic stop on I-75 southbound near Exit 212 in Locust Grove.

During the course of the traffic stop the officer received information that the individual was wanted on other charges, said Capt. Jason Bolton with the Henry County Police Department.

The man attempted to run away from the officer and ran across the interstate. The man was struck by a vehicle and killed.

All southbound lanes of I-75 are closed.

Things like this are often referred to in the context of Darwin because it's like having a front-row seat to watch natural selection in action.

Exactly, it's why those hot Swedish chicks in England survived even though they tried numerous time to kill themselves by jumping in front of oncoming traffic on a previous post. They were meant to survive because they're so damned attractive. The world needs their genes. HAHA! I know...a little off meaning.

Actually you're right though... ask yourself this: If you had to save a room full of strangers from danger, which would you save first? The ugly ones?

Even babies are capable of identifying beauty - those standards are not learned. Being drawn to the pleasing and attractive is all part of our programming to help perpetuate desirable genetic traits.

Interesting you say that. I just watched a Discovery Channel (I think) show last night in Kuala Lumpur about that very topic. The single most important factors related to attractiveness are 1. facial symmetry, and 2. body symmetry. These are hardwired into the brain at birth to help us locate healthy, productive partners for procreation.

I'm certain there is a completely different explanation for Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley's marriage!
