Just saw this juris.
I lived in CR for 2 1/2 years. There are a ton of great things to do:
1. Manuel Antonio National Park. Gorgeous rain forest and goes right up to a beautiful beach
2. Tabacon Hot Springs. At the base of Arenal Volcano. Hot springs turned into beautiful warm pools and falls
3. Sportfishing in Tamarindo: Dorado, Marlin, Tuna, Sailfish, etc.
4. Monteverde Cloud Forest: treks, etc.
5. Ziplining on Skytrek near Arenal. Lines 1/2 a mile long and 600 ft. high in places.
6. Whitewater rafting the El Toro river - Class 3 and 4 rapids
Best just to rent a car and drive around to these things. Rentals are pretty cheap for a tourist place.
Well, these are a few things to do. Let me know if you need other info.

Just wanted to thank you again for your recommendations. Returned today from Costa Rica. Stayed at the Los Suenos Marriott. Got in the Zip Line (fantastic); sport fishing; golf; ATV-ing; Rain Forest; surfing (trying); night bar scene. The dining was fantastic and the people warm and friendly. A great trip. Felt badly about th ecurrency exchange rate- about 533 colones to $1.00. Yikees! Earthquake knocked mud onto two major bridges destroying the bridges. Road to the airport closed so took the 3 hour back road. Saw some interesting villages. So many people so incredibly poor but so happy! Now to New Orleans- another country, too. Thanks again.
