These planes (Bombardier Dash 8 Q400) are similar if not the same aircraft type that SAS was having serious trouble with last year. Two of them "crashed" while landing due to landing gear problems. However, this crash in Buffalo sounds like it happened before they had a chance to land.

Last summer for a business trip to White Plains, NY, I had to get on one of those turbo props for the last leg of my trip. Granted it was much smaller than the Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, it will be my first and last time on any prop-plane. It scared the Beejezus out of me; the plane shook and vibrated the entire flight.
