And it's important that the scientific debate continue.

For example, a respected Russian scientist says that a cooling spell will start in a few years - because it's all about the activity of the sun.

And a recent U.S. Senate Report found more than 400 prominent scientists who dispute man-made global warming claims. Sorry, Al Gore, there is no consensus on this.

On the other hand, NOAA says we are all going to Hell, as 2007 registered the 5th warmest global temperatures in 127 years of record keeping.

Oddly, it was cold here in Chicago during 2007 - 9th coldest year in the last 50 years. I guess I better go spew some more E60-generated CO2 to keep warm.

Regardless if global warming is true or not and has or hasn't contributed to climate change, shouldn't we all do our part to take care of the environment?

I totally agree ! I live in a very clean city but in my travels I've certainy experienced terrible air quality as a result of a combination of Industry and humans.............. You'll never convince me that this will be taken care of by "climate cycles etc.."IMHO

Cheers

Bob Lutz .... my hero.

"Global warming is a total crock of shit,? Lutz told a group of mostly local journalists during a closed-door meeting at the Cacharel restaurant near Dallas and Fort Worth. "I'm a skeptic, not a denier ? I?m motivated more by the desire to replace imported oil than by the CO2."

Hat tip LeftLane News.

Yeah, that's where I sit too. Replace foreign oil - the rest is well... of dubious value. I may strongly consider a diesel BMW when they are released later this year in the US. Biodiesel would (or could) curb the use of foreign oil.

Anyone see the recent predictions of a massive global cooling by Solar researchers?

Oh, and this is funny. I hadn't been to Shanghai in about 5, 6 years. A business acquaintance recently returned from there. I had raved about how great it was, as I was there right on the cusp of a serious wave of international attention proclaiming that Shanghai was the city of the 21st century, etc...

Anyway, he said it was so polluted and smoggy that you wouldn't believe it. Also, he said that people were protesting the levels of pollution, and that the government was starting to address it since they don't want China to look bad during the Olympics. The point? I think leftist groups are focusing efforts on a region that is already doing a pretty good job of policing emissions. It's easy to police the developed nations - if they want to serve the cause they believe in, they need to take up the fight in places like China.
