My Ride: 2009 W211
Model Year: 2017
Default

Hello all. Again, I no longer own my E60 but I can't get any help whatsoever on the benz boards (wack). Which is why I turn to the 5series forum for all the help I can still get.

I'm really on the fence about which coilovers I should go with for my 2009 W211, and I could definitely use some insight from the many trusted members on this board. Any insight and advice is greatly appreciated.

1) I'm not tracking the car, so I don't need super stiff suspension and all that is associated with track suspensions.
2) This car is a daily. Main objective is comfort + low.
3) I'm not going to slam the car and go super duper herra frush. I want to maintain a piece of mind when I'm driving the car without having to worry about this and that.
4) Not looking to spend on KWs since I will not be tracking the car.
5) Coilovers I'm looking at:
- BC Racing BR Series
- H&R Street Performance Coilovers
- CKS Suspension with CKS Springs
6) Coilovers I'm not interested in:
- KW V2 and Street Comforts
- KSport
- D2 Racing
- Megan Racing

Thanks in advance fellas.

I understand. It's not regarding my W211 in particular. I'm more interested to see what E60 drivers think about various coilovers available for the E60. I know there are a lot on here that have Bilstein, H&R, KW, Ksport, D2, etc. I'm just looking for which route I should take for affordable comfortable daily driving with no track use.

Hey Nick, just to let you know. The KSports, D2 and the BC Racing are basically identical. They are made in the same factory, a guy I used to work with knows the owner of the factory - they also make the Megan coilovers and a few others.

Hey John. I've been reading that they're made from different factories. Especially BC Racing in particular. After much interweb browsing, I've come to the conclusion that BC Racing is the superior setup to go with.

Are you sure they're made from the same factory?

Granted, it's not first hand, but the guy I used to work with said they were. We discussed it when I got my KSPorts. His cousin is married to the guy who owns the factory, and back when he was drifting he had a good idea for a "pillow top" upper mount. It turned out that KSport and BC had the same idea and asked the guy that owns the factory to make it.
