While watching the Cubs game the other evening, I was surprised to see that BMW is now a sponsor of the Cubs, and was also sponsoring the Cubs "BMW Ultimate Play". I saw a home run replay with the BMW logo on the bottom corner of the screen (I nearly fell off the couch).

I can't decide if this is good luck for the Cubs, or bad luck for BMW...

For all you non USA er's, the Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908, making Chicago (Cubs) fans the longest suffering in the nation. A White Sox championship doesn't count, not for "die hard" Cubs fans.

Yeah I noticed that while watching the Cubs game last night too. BMW will also be sponsoring the 2007 and on Western Golf Open which for the first time wont be called the Western Open anymore. BMW is really getting tied into Chicago Sports. They may have figured that their key market demographic is also into the Cubs and Golf. I now expect some tickets coming my way from my dealership. And not just for the Chicago Auto Show.
