You can join and discover benefits hereBMWCCA

They have a very good magazine, Roundel, plus the local chapter benefits are really good. We have the Lone Star Chapter which is just as cool as this forum for local stuff. Also, I may eventually get $1000 back for purchasing the 545.

BMW CCA has a customer loyalty program that offers cash back on the purchase or lease of a new car. The amount varies by model.

The 5-series offers $1000 back which is what JDN should get.

As far as membership, the magazine alone is worth the price of the dues. In addition, most BMW dealerships will offer some sort of discount on parts to any CCA member. (Other companies might offer a discount as well.)

Many chapters offer driving schools and events throughout the year. (Unfortunately for me, I've been a member since 1989 and have yet to find the time to actually attend a club event. I keep promising myself I'll do it soon. Maybe this year.....)

They also have national events like Octoberfest each year -- they look like great fun.

Hope that helps you make a decision.

I called it customer loyalty but it's actually called "membership reward program". You need to be a member for at least one year before leasing/buying the car.

Here's a link to the .pdf file if you want more details.

BMW CCA is a great club. I can't recommend highly enough both the driver's school and the safety school. The driver's school is an absolutely unforgettable weekend, not very expensive and will significantly improve driving skills and alertmess. You might think you can't use skills learned on a race track but you can, and I do every day (without breaking the law!). There's a book you can get called Friends of BMW which has listings for knowlegeable owners throughout the country. If you ever find yourself somewhere and your bimmer has a problem, you can get good info re: which dealers not to use (roadside assistance), good shops, bad shops, etc. Family picnics, great magazine, parts discounts (I thought it was a straight 20% at all dealerships/boutique shops), etc., etc. If you have a teenager learning how to drive, the safety schools are unbeatable.

I just joined, and got an email receipt. I wonder when I'll get my first magazine. The discount on parts seemed like it would more than pay for itself.

Just what I need though, another magazine. let's see: 4 monthly flying magazines (hobby), 3 monthly Computer Mags (work), 1 Home Improvement magazine (just to see what 'real' husbands do and to make my wife think I know how to fix stuff), and now a car magazine.

I'm going to have to stock up on my fiber!

This will be your first car magazine? Wow. I had to cut back on all the car mags I received a few years ago. Now, I'm down to around 3 or 4 instead of the 7 or 8 I used to get!

I have a pilot's license as well and I used to fly as a hobby back when I had more time. It's a great time -- I miss it a little bit. Now, I just "fly low" and stay on the ground with the 545!
