Question: We all know how much more expensive these cars are in Europe. So how much do the cabs charge in Europe to get ROI on these cars?

In a lot of cases, our cars are more expensive because of motor vehicle taxes. In the Netherlands, for example, any cars purchased and registered as taxis (i.e. commercial vehicles), do NOT pay these taxes, making them up to 50% cheaper than for the rest of us - so they are cheaper to buy.


Regardless of that, they're still expensive as heck though ... average cab fare in Amsterdam is EUR 15 (US$22) per mile travelled.
