Alright, now to the fun stuff. There's been a minor debate about active steering (AS). Some say it removes the drivers from the road while others say it's awesome. Here's the test:

People with AS:

1. Drink a can of beer or soda or some aluminum can.
2. Place the empty can about 30 ft in front of your e60 slightly at 3'o clock.
3. Drive to the can in a curve (curve into the can) and run over it with your front tire (left or right). Just don't go straight to the beer can. Drive UNDER 20 mph.

Did you hit the can or not?

If you hit the can, then AS DOES NOT remove the driver from the road.
If you missed the can, then:

1. You suck at driving
2. You need to get use to the AS.
3. 1 can of beer got you feeling wozzy.

Reply and indicate if you have AS or not and your result.

Damned, I should have read your post a bit better.

I had a sixpac of beer and only then I realized that the test was for E60's with AS.

Since I do not have it, I had an other sixpac

Now I only have 12 empy beer cans...

I'll try it with an empty bottle of vodka. I'll let you know if I get a flat.

The test doesn't work for me. I can hit the car in any car.

I am almost ready for the test. One more six pack and I'll be ready.

Hey, Bimmer32, have the mods you listed in your signature reduced your 0 to 60 or quarter mile times?

I don't think AS has removed me from the car that much, so I will probably pass on the test.

I think the reduced weight is highly significant. "Mods: A simple chrome license plate frame"

I did it.
I had some beer.
Then I had some more beer
Then I was almost ready... but had to have some more beer.

But then I got into my car and was able to hit the beer...

...truck!

P.S. That is proof. AS works!

Oh yah . . . the "simple licese plate" saved me 16 oz from the dealer plates, but that 16 oz of beer in my stomach cancelled the weight saving.

I just ordered a totally top secret body kit for my car. It's going to have a fully molded look (next gen. 5er), 4 wheel drive, front and rear LSD (yeah!) and top speed of 480 mph. Hehehehe. It will take a couple of weeks to come in, 1 week for the mods, and I'll post some pics in the "Lounge." If I have time, I'll attached the "sound" clip and maybe a video too. The engine sounds like the Lola Ford Champ Car. Check out this link:

Heeeeehhehehe
