Ok, a buddy of mine just sent me this email with the attached pics. I think this used to be a BMW:

Advantages of driving in Germany:

1) Overall, the cars are in much better condition because of tough
inspections
2) Licenses are much harder to get, with better driving training
3) The autobahn speed limit is "whatever's safe" up to 155 mph

Disadvantages of driving in Germany:
1) When you fly off the road @ 120+ mph, you find out why Oak was used as
armor on ships

I think they'll be able to just buff that out!

Actually, there are limits on the autobahn. In certain areas you will find speed limits. The autobahn also has a recommended speed of 130km (80mph) in Germany. (Most other places are 120km) If you have an accident or were involved even though it was not your fault, you are in violation and will be ticketed no matter what for not following the reccomended speed.
Granted that person didn't survive probably but if he or she had there would have been a ticket their way.
Sad to see those kinds of accidents. We get accidents here all the time from mainly US Airman being unnattentive or lacking the skill to drive like the locals even though the Airman think they can.

Those pics are bad. By the looks of the last picture, it doesn't even look like they were on the autobahn. Hopefully the person was ejected out of the car before impact.

This is not an actuall accident.
It is a wrackage what the police wrapped around the tree to show the kids what CAN happen.
But accidents like this DO happen here in Germany, that's the sad part, and that's why the police is trying to scare the kids.

Without question NOT an autobahn and one darn strong tree.

didn't think so either. i thought the autobahn is enclosed with safety rails.

Definitely not a BMW, IMO this used to be a Ford Escort.

I'm in agreement that that's not a BMW.

The fuel filler is the giveaway for me.
