That's a cool site, although a bit misleading. The main page shows a bunch of Audis in Stark's workshop, but the only Audi there during filming was the R8. His other cars were a Saleen, a Cobra, a Tesla, and a hot rod. The Cobra and the Tesla did not have an engine/batteries in them and couldn't be driven.
It's interesting that I used super Bright high power white LED's for the Iron Man Mark II and Mark III eyes and when I went to set and saw the R8 I noticed that not only is the shape of the R8 headlights very similar to the Iron Man eyes, but also the LED's in the R8's headlights were sort of a parallel to the Iron Man eye LED's. It was obviously a coincidence, but it seems like Audi has picked up on the similarity too and has used it in the initial animation of their micro site.
To be fair, Audi did have their whole model line up there outside the soundstage, but they weren't in Stark's workshop. I'm guessing they were used as filler cars in any street scenes. There were two "dummy" R8's which were more or less just shells that looked like the real one in Stark's workshop, but they had fake (painted) carbon fiber panels, and by the end of the shoot they were destroyed with collapsed roofs and all. There was also an A5 (or was it an S5
) outside the stage. I think at the time they weren't out yet and that's where I saw my first A5/S5.
