At first glance this image doesn't appear too ridiculous...but look closely and you'll see the twin side exit exhausts borrowed from the McLaren SLR. The RENNtech Smart 7.22 comes from one of Germany's top Merc tuning firms and pays homage to the SLR 722. Apparently, its ?Go-eco" exhaust system ensures that emissions are a blend of pure oxygen and a potpourri of fresh lilacs and honeysuckle.

Fed up with dogs relieving themselves all over your shiny alloys? BMW has the solution in the form of the Canine Repellent Alloy Protection (CRAP). The car stores energy lost during braking and converts it to a 220v electrical charge, which shocks the dog when it urinates on the alloys. That ought to deter it from whizzing on the wheels in future.

Why play taxi driver when the kids can beat you at driving games? That?s the thinking behind Kia?s crazy April prank ? a car that substitutes conventional controls for a child seat and a joystick in the back seat. Needless to say, the controller comes from Nintendo, hence the witty Kee_Wii name...

And this is what it looks like from the outside. Supposedly developed by the Advanced Propulsion Research Institute and Laboratory at Kia Motors New Zealand, the car is targeted at the younger driver ? eight-year-olds in particular. Apparently Kia is appealing to governments to change real driving tests to computer simulations.

Forget paintwork ? car camouflage is the future! SEAT claims to have developed a system whereby the bodywork blends in with its surroundings. The technology is similar to that used in auto-dimming rear mirrors, but what happens when it goes through a speed camera?

The new Ford Kuga will feature the world?s first prescription windscreen so short-sighted drivers need not worry about wearing their specs every day. A bi-focal option will also be available and the Ford Automotive Lens Specialist Engineers (FALSE) are currently researching prescription mirror technology.

Lamborghini thinks its customers might become a little queasy after a high-speed ride in a Murcielago, so it?s advertising a sick bag on its website. Strangely, the slogan beneath the bag claims that it is currently out of stock...

The SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) claims that it has begun work with the brewing industry in an attempt to freeze-dry beer! The crazy theory states that freeze-dried alcohol would be cheaper, and lighter to transport ? therefore reducing weight and CO2 levels of lorries.
