For about 6 years now, I have been a sound / lighting engineer in the NYC area. I freelance for a few different companies doing sound staging and lighting for live events in the metropolitan area. Just wondering if there are any other forum members into what I do

Somewhat close.
I've DJ'ed as a hobby ever since I was a teenager, mostly house parties but on occasion I'd work clubs and formal events. A few years back I was helping out a lady friend with a gig at an upscale nightclub and met the person who ran the lighting system.
Until then, I knew alot about sound systems but had no idea how much equipment and engineering go into a "top-notch" dynamic lighting system. I always thought it was the music that mattered most but I learned the lighting effects can be just as important to the overall experience.
Here's props' for what you do

Not exactly in the NYC area, but I did TV-shows, commercials, corporate (produced, directed etc.) for some 20 years.
