Although I did not grow up in the South I have embraced the South with all that She has to offer. I am an adopted redneck. One of the most favorite things I like to do is attend the closest NHRA event. There is nothing more amazing I have ever seen than an engine that produces almost 8000 horsepower and drives a machine down the quarter mile in less than 4.6 seconds. If you ever have the chance to attend an event you will never forget it. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of the drivers over the years. The pit is open to the public with any ticket.

This weekend one of the leaders of the NHRA had a horrible wreck. John Force is a wild personality, he talks too much, does not make much sense most of the time and is hyper to say the least. One of his own teammates, Eric Medlin, died in a wreck earlier this year. Take a look at this past weekend. It is a great sport but still dangerous.

I also grew up lovin' real drag racing, although not participating. I watch every broadcast NHRA event televised. It was a horrific in real time and even in replay. But although a lot of broken bones and abrasions I thought he came out pretty good. You are right about John, he talks so fast yet I think his brain is working even faster and you are not quite sure what he said. I was sorry his daughter did not continue her run(s) as I just know that is what he would have wanted.
