this is the type of discussion that is getting supressed by the global warming band wagon.

I'm a little unsure how something you were able to find on a major news outlet could be considered to be suppressed.

As of 11:35 AM PST:

Google News - front page has a link to 4,007 Al Gore related news stories, including many that report concern at Gore's Nobel prize.

CNN - front page has no Al Gore stories at all.

MSNBC - nothing prominent on Gore at all, there is a link way down the page (you need to scroll) which is a link to an MSNBC news video discussing a potential run in 2008.

Its not the question whether global warming is occurring. Its the question is it natural or man-made. I personally believe in climate change. Pollution is certainly not helping, but is it the sole cause of it. The notion of mans complete responsibility for global warning has wrongly been adopted as universal truth. Just because Al Gore made a documentary, doesn't mean everything he said are facts. The earths climate has changed since God put it here, we have had cyclical changes and most of it is purely natural.

One fact in Gore's film that people should Google. The cause-and-effect relationship of CO2 and temperatures. Obviously, temperatures go up throughout history. The scientific literature is fairly clear, fairly uniform. Temperatures go up; then, CO2 concentrations go up. CO2 does not drive temperature. Its pretty much the main point of his film, in simple terms he says as CO2 concentrations rise, that increases temperatures, and in turn the ice caps are melting at alarming rates. Its just hard to believe he won awards for this film, when there are many statements/data in the film that are embellished and many times just flat out wrong.

Not to long ago people and the media were warning about a global cooling. Yes I said global cooling. Here is a Newsweek article from the 70s.

Enough already. Don't let history repeat itself. We all know the cavemen's SUVs were responsible for the end of the ice age .

Michael Moore and Al Gore should get together and compare notes ...
about their eating habits.

my point is that anyone that dares present a contrarian opinion is ostracized. For most in the global warming crowd, the debate is closed and those with opposing views should be tarred and feathered. I do not remember her name, but a weather channel gal wanted to take licenses away from her colleagues that had a different opinion. I am typically surprised when I do find a contrarian opinion in the media. They are far far outnumbered. I am totally for recycling, reducing emissions et al, but I do not want to see us overly react to a phenomenon that has become more emotional rather than scientific.
