Peugeot was on pole last year, but the experienced Audi squad took the win. Can Peugeot last the full 24 hrs without any major problems. I know they have quite a lot more development on the car compared to last year.

Lets see if the Corvette C6-R can take back the GT-1 class from the Prodrive Aston Martin. The Vettes have owned that class for years.

Rather than watch it on TV......go there!!!!!!

I went 2 years ago in my 911 with 5 Porsche buddies......absolutely brilliant!!!!
And what an adventure driving down there from the UK (i realise this isn't an option from the US).

We were having some terrific dust ups with TVR's all the way down there and hit 150mph on the toll roads!!!!
Although that is nothing to be proud of and can in no way be condoned!!!

And there was the added bonus of 3 hours after the race had finished they re-opened the roads/part of the cicuit and we got to blast up and down the Mulsanne straight!!!.....and even got up at 5am the next morning to do a bit more of the circuit before driving home!

From Autosport.com:

The first hour ends with Peugeot trio at the head of the race. Pedro Lamy and Franck Montagny continue to run in tandem, with Nicolas Minassian in the No.7 908 HDi now 21 seconds behind them.

The GT1 battle has remained unchanged after the first round of stops.
Jan Magnussen (27th overall) leads his class in the No.63 Corvette. He has a 12 second lead over Oliver Gavin in the No.64 sister car, with the two Aston Martins now beginning to fall back a little. The Astons are now 26 seconds behind the leading Corvette.

It's a shame that BMW doesn't have their M3 entered.

+1 Maybe next year.

From Autosport.com;
Hr 2 Report,
Up front the Peugeots continue to lead the race with two hours already completed.

The No.8 with Stephane Sarrazin driving leads, with Christian Klien in the No.9 car in second. Klien is 46 seconds behind Sarrazin. Jacques Villeneuve runs third in the No.7 Peugeot, now 74 seconds off the lead.

The Audis continue to lap slower to the tune of three seconds per lap or more. Mcnish is fourth in the No.2 entry and within a minute of the lead, but Luhr and Pirro in fifth and sixth are now well over two minutes behind Sarrazin.

Hr. 3 at LeMans and it seems some cracks are starting to show for the Peugeot team.....Autosport.com; Rinaldo Capello leads the 24 hours for Audi in the No.2. Marc Gene is chasing after him in the Peugeot No.7. The gap is now 32 seconds.

Riocardo Zonta makes it a Peugeot two-three. He is 92 seconds off the lead, with Alexandre Premat running fourth for Audi, 36 seconds behind Zonta.

Marco Werner is fifth in the Audi No.1 car, with the Japanese Dome Judd running superbly in sixth place.
......Alex Wurz is down in 21st overall after a long pit stop due to a gearbox linkage problem.
