All, just wanted to share my other passion with the group, have been a Mustang fan all my life and was in a good situation to be able to pick up a new Shelby GT500 last May. I have a good friend who runs a Ford dealership and he was able to get me the car at MSRP (in a time when they were going for $10K - $20K over sticker): The powerplant is a 5.4L 4V V8 with factory intercooled supercharger (the heads are the same 4V units found on the Ford GT). It only comes in manual 6-sp tranny with a dual-disc cerametallic clutch for the power and Brembo brakes in the front to slow her down. Not as precise nor "balanced" as the 535i - but still a lot of fun to drive!! Note the functional heat extractors in the hood as well as the hugh grill area. Interior is leather with upgraded seats (better side bolsters) over the regular Mustang GT. Also has larger wheels/tires, leather dash and door trim. Convertible top is black cloth (new for Mustang in '07). Stock power is 500hp and 0-60 times are in the low 4's (depending on driver of course).

Have you entertained any M5s with your Cobra? How is it compared to the Rousch 'stangs out there?

Nice car btw.

Very sharp GT500, Hotlap, particularily nice in the Vista Blue color. Thanks for posting the pix. I had a '07 Maustang GT/CalifSpecial Vert for about 11 months, before I decided to go back to BMW.

Enjoy the GT500, a sunny day driver...

I have not run across an M5 while out in the Shelby, but I'd imagine the M5 has better handling - though I'm not familiar with it's straight line speed either...I would imagine straight line they'd be pretty close? As far as the Roush stangs go, it's faster than the 427R but I believe that Roush model has suspension upgrades that would allow it to handle better. I'm torn between leaving the Shelby stock or upgrading the suspension. I'm not planning on racing it so that's why I've been holding off the suspension mods...(for now at least )...taht mod bug bites pretty hard sometimes...especially after a few cold ones

Thanks, I had an '07 GT/CS vert in Vista Blue before I traded for the Shelby...I enjoyed it very much while I had it. The look was great and it was a better balanced Mustang than the Shebly with it's extra weight for certain! I must admit though, ever since taking delivery of the 535i - it's all I've been driving...I imagine once the new wears off a bit, I'll be back to switching between the two. I drove them back to back this weekend and the clutch action of each is very different!!

Thanks and back at you on that beautiful E60!! I know you are from the Philly area, but at first the background looked like an area near La Jolla Cove that I used to go to...

That is a real beauty and beast all in the same car.
