The BMW driver is a complete jerk. But why does the cops taking on the chase? If they didnt, the the accident would not have happend. It's better to not push the driver, follow him by distance and catch him later on, without risking a lot of other people. In Sweden the officers would get warned or have lost their jobs.

The chase has caused some controversy and one police officer that was critical of it was assigned to desk duty.

Was watching while it was happening at lunch yesterday. Thought it was funny when the reporters were saying that the cops should use the tack strip to puncture the tires. Obviously did not know about the RFT's.

Alright, the driver was 21 years old. The actual chase lasted for about 1.5 hours. Police had many opportunities to run this dough-dough head off the road early on, but because of the new "anti-chase" policy (stupid in my opinion), the chase lasted that long. Top speed was 140 mph, not 100 mph reported by the press. If it wasn't for the videos and modern camera, I'd beat the crap out of this guy myself or throw him over the bridge. oopss. He jumped
