In a word . . . WOW! I am sitting @ home last night when I grab my iTouch to peruse the Detroit Free Press web site when the attached article caught my eye:

As I read the article, I realize . . . I know the accused! He is my former golf league partner and we used to play pretty competitive flag football in a sports dome in the winters (1997-2000). He played linebacker @ Northwestern in the 80's and had a fairly successful career as a drug rep for many years. We lost touch about 10 years ago.
Having grown up on "the other side of the tracks" I've known some pretty unsavory characters who ran the gamut of selling drugs, petty larceny, grand larceny, committing fraud and conversion to grand theft auto, however, not until yesterday had I ever been an acquaintance of someone accused of murder. Unreal. I am still trying to wrap my mind around this.

wow, maybe he snapped? I have a g.f who is trying to go through a divorce, but her husband is making her life miserable! stop payment on the car, house, no moeny for her. calls her "cu%t, slu$" and many names that are worse. I think he cant grasp the idea that she doenst love him anymore and wants out.. On that note he has become a totally different person.. I see it with my own eyes.. He even does all this in front of their daughter!
All im saying is when divorce becomes a reality in your picture perfect life, people snap. Maybe they fought each other physically? wow, who knows.. Its scary sometimes what a human being is capable of, especially when youve known someone. In your case some time ago, but still.. Its scary and creepy. Sorry..

You are absolutely right. You never know what demons lurk within a person's psyche to make him "snap." Obviously more will come to light in the days to come.
What is puzzling is that the 3 other family members @ home had no idea what had occurred.

UPDATE: Should you be interested . . . . according to various updated newspaper reports . . .
both H & W were being sued to the tune of $600K by a local bank for business debts of H's home based businesses; H had a previous go-around with the authorities back in 1991 in another suburb for choking his then live-in G/F with an iron cord . . . he did 30 days in the County Jail for that offense . . . W filed for divorce last week and appears that H was served via certified mail late last week or earlier this week . . . W (per her divorce atty) did not believe it was necessary to obtain a protection order . . . . he left handwritten and printed notes around the house indicating that he intended for this to be a murder suicide (comments geared more to emotions of a marriage breaking up as opposed to the financial woes they were facing) . . . . W found on her stomach in a pool of blood on bed in MBR with 4 stab wounds to the shoulder back and neck . . .H's stab wounds are, by all accounts, self-inflicted . . . apparent murder weapon (a knife) found in car that H drove to the hospital.
Obviously, when I knew him I never saw this side of him. Absolutely tragic. Pray for the children.

wow! absolutely horrific though.. I dont know how children ever recover and live normal lives knowing stuff like that. I pray for them deeply (and I dont pray) lol..
Other things scar children as it is, imagine the enormous wounds this will leave..
