I can't really afford an entire setup, but after driving my buddy's 650 I hate the sound(or lack there of) my exhaust.

This won't rice my 550 out will it?

I just want something that sounds a little deeper, more like when I'm in fourth gear at 4000RPM, or is that just the engine?

Would removing the vacuum tube from the stock exhaust to keep the flap open solve what I am trying to do here, or do I need more?

Any other choices for not-too-expensive mufflers that don't notify my neighbors I am home, while still on I-5?

Sorry this is such a gay thread.

Go with the RPI exhaust from Trinity, much deeper note, proven gains in HP, and doesn't make your car "ricer" at all. Best bang for your buck really. Contact member Nerweezy.

I dont think using a magnaflow muffler wont "rice" it out...it will give you a nice deep and muscular roar.

OK, I consider myself pretty trendy and all that, but WTF does FTW stand for? I've seen it alot, but have no idea...I'm sure its something really simple and obvious, but I'm not getting it.

Regarding a new exhaust - i had the same fear of my 550 sounding like a rice mobile. I checked out the RPI, listened to them whenever I could, and finally just ordered one and haven't been dissapointed yet - one of the best mods you can do to a 550 imho.

Got mine from RPI for 600 bucks, not sure if the killing me larry sale is still going on. Still best exhaust at full price. The downshift sound is so sweet.

Hey there!!!
Nice to have a fellow Portlander on the site...I have been reading and doing homework on this topic as I am almost ready to purchase a few goodies, one being the
RPI axle back exhaust!!! They know what they are doing. Spoke with the rep/owner and its proven HP. A good shop in the area is "pacificmotorsportsonline.com" Good luck with the purchase.

I dont mean to hijack the thread, but what else is needed to use the magnaflow muffler on the car? Is there anything else you can buy with it?
